Elementary School 47 Telanaipura Kota Jambi or SD Negeri 47 is a public Elementary school in Jambi. It is known as one of the best elementary school in Jambi with its moto “THINK SMART, WORK HARD.”

SD Negeri 47 has six grades where, Grade 1 has 6 section; Grade 2 has 5; Grade 3 and Grade 4 has 7 sections; while Grade 5 and grade 6 has 6 sections respectively.
The school population is around 1,200 students from grade 1 to 6. The school has its personal mosque for the students and teachers because majority of its population is Muslim.
SD Negeri 47 have different facilities and equipment, they have their own bus for the student to go to another place to do their Physical Education class. The school also has its own sound system connected around the school for paging and other announcements. It also has a library in the first floor that promotes Literacy Movement for the students. There are also multimedia room and computer laboratory in the second floor of the building. The school has a guard house and most importantly it is protected by cctv. There is also a clinic and they call it UKS. For the outside facilities they have two canteens to cater all the students and one of it is called Honest Canteen to exercise the students’ honesty.
1.2 Academic Support System
SD Negeri 47 provides support and guidance for the students to help them accelerate and improve their ability to its maximum potential. The teachers provide special lesson for those students who seems lacking in class, they also make special exams in order to monitor the students progress and at the same time the students will know their own progress.
1.3 Teaching System
Based on my observation the teachers have different method of teaching depending on the subject they handle. For example, I observe a Physical Education class and the teacher is focused on demonstration and performance of the students. The teacher demonstrates one of the routines the students need to perform in the class, while in mathematics class that I observed the teacher is teaching using Problem-Based learning and Contextual learning in class.
1.4 Materials and Other Learning Sources
The school provides books for the students in different subjects. The teacher usually provides other materials in the form of text and sometimes they also based from books. For the teachers who need projectors for discussion can always ask for it in the administration office. They can also look for learning materials at the school’s library. All the classrooms have its own whiteboard.
1.5 Measurement and Evaluation System
The method used to evaluate the student progress is based on their cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills. They give special attention in evaluating the students attitude because the school has a very strong sense of discipline. The teachers give seat works, activities during lesson. They give quizzes and exams every month and after every chapters of their lesson to monitor students progress and at the same time the students can monitor their own progress. They also have summative assessment in every semester.
1.6 Curriculum
The curriculum that the Elementary School uses is called “Kurikulum 2013” it had revisions in 2017 but the name is still the same. There is a syllabus made based on this curriculum that the teachers are using to create their lesson plan.
1.7 Teaching Plan
All the teachers are required to prepare a week worth lesson plan before the week start and they only have one format of writing the lesson plan to follow. The teachers need the approval of the principal and the supervisor before proceeding to teach the lesson.
1.8 Others
I observed that the school gives special attention about religion they have specific class that teach religion, the school have a specific teacher that teach Pendidikan Agama Islam or Islam Religion and a Christian religion Teacher.
